Amarok and EQ

Ok, I have been playing with Amarok and it seems to be a really cool app. However, when I select and enable the EQ, my volume drops to about 1/2. When I unselect the EQ, my volume comes back. This happens with the XINE and GStreamer engines.

Anyone know why? XMMS doesn't do this...
