Hello everyone,
I just installed a new box with Arch and as my usual setup, installed Awesome WM with Gnome. This is usually a simple process, but this last time my mouse cursor isn't visible when I'm in Awesome. The cursor is there, I can click stuff, but it's just invisible. I've done my obligatory googling but nothing came up that would help.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm glad to hear them.

I am also seeing this. The cursor is visible in gdm and vanilla gnome 3, but not awesome VM. I suggest trying awesome without any other startup programs, e.g. gnome-settings daemon. (Haven't got time to investigate it right now)

I had the exact same problem. You need to set the cursor - active to false. Either with dconf-editor in /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/cursor/ uncheck active or via terminal with
dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/cursor/active false

Thanks, that did the trick!

Yup, I can confirm this works for me.
@dohko: If this solution works for you, could you please mark the thread [SOLVED]?

I can confirm that works for me too. Except I had to do it through blind clicking....
This error happened while using the commnd line option:
error: Error spawning command line 'dbus-launch --autolaunch=49844e252d1a41d0aae184e0d0efe00e --binary-syntax --close-stderr': Child process exited with code 1
I do see my cursor as of now, though
