mtpfs / Nexus 7 data loss

I connected my Nexus 7 2013 via USB to Arch Linux and noticed I can't mount it at all.
So I read about it and found I have to use mtpfs.
I mounted it with following command:

mtpfs -o allow_other nexus/

then I moved a directory from my PC hard disk to nexus internal storage
I noticed some errors with "preserving times" and "preserving permissions", but nothing else
then I unmounted nexus with following command:

umount /mnt/nexus

then I disconnected USB and looked into my nexus, then I found that only some files from directory were moved, other just disappeared!
I always thought that "mv" command never remove original file if there was problem with move, so what causes this behaviour?
I don't see any errors in dmesg.
Can unmounting by using "umount" cause data loss in this case? Should I unmount other way?
If not - is it some mtpfs bug?

Re: mtpfs / Nexus 7 data loss

I had similar problems with mtpfs being completely unreliable for my Nexus 4. My problems were fixed by using simple-mtpfs instead of mtpfs.

Re: mtpfs / Nexus 7 data loss

What DE are you using? On Gnome (including gnome derived environments) you have to install gvfs-mtp and on KDE you have to use kio-mtp. As long as these packages are installed at least Nexus devices mount automatically.
