Just to say that it is animated in the Mozilla build even though I'm using the default 25.0 theme.
OOM killer killed my firefox build (I only have 16GB of RAM, sorry Mozilla).
That's why I kept asking if anyone knows if it's upstream or Arch's fault - I can't test it myself either.
You have to use the -Wl,--no-keep-memory flag.
