Systemd-Journal 100% CPU Usage and XFCE-Panels Crash on Startup

Just updated x-server today and now have this systemd-journal 100% cpu usage issue. Also been having this issue with xfce panels crashing no borders on windows, I have to run "xfce-panel" for this to be fixed every time I boot.

Re: Systemd-Journal 100% CPU Usage and XFCE-Panels Crash on Startup

Ok, so this isn't much information to work with. What do the system journal and Xorg.log logs give?

Claire is fine.
Problems? I have dysgraphia, so clear and concise please.

Re: Systemd-Journal 100% CPU Usage and XFCE-Panels Crash on Startup

Downgrading to glibc-2.18-5 solved xfce panel crashing and windows borders problem. I no longer need to run "xfwm4 --replace". But "systemd-journal" still uses 100% CPU on startup and at random times.

You'll need to filter the output of journalctl so we can see why that's being written to.

Claire is fine.

Re: Systemd-Journal 100% CPU Usage and XFCE-Panels Crash on Startup

It looks like it was core dumps that using 100% cpu :-) When I disabled core dumps like "Spider.007" suggested in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=154511

# echo kernel.core_pattern= > /etc/sysctl.d/50-coredump.conf
# /lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl
# cat /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern # should be empty

This issue disappeared :-) Let me know if this is correct way to disable core dump :-) Thanks.
