Update to ttf-bitstream wants to remove Xorg (?)

This morning I did my routine pacman -Syu and got this message:

ttf-bitstream-vera conflicts with xorg.  Remove xorg? [Y/n]

Obviously I don't want to remove Xorg.  Is anyone else getting this error?  Is there any sort of work-around you can suggest?  Should the bitstream maintainer be informed of the problem?

UPDATE:

I checked the official package repository and it seems as though the bitstream package was updated a couple days ago, but it has no maintainer.

Re: Update to ttf-bitstream wants to remove Xorg (?)

I was just poking around the system a little bit.

Would this problem be appearing because I have installed Xorg font packages from Testing (ie: xorg-fonts-100dpi, xorg-fonts-75dpi), which may have bitstream as part of them already?

Never mind.  I've been catching up on some reading and it seems as though this problem revolves around the new Xorg package in Testing... correct?

Would it be a safe (or just a stupid) idea to remove the Testing directory from /var/lib/pacman and comment out Testing from my pacman.conf so I don't have to deal with the whole Xorg testing issue at this time?

Re: Update to ttf-bitstream wants to remove Xorg (?)

the old xorg used to conflict with ttf-bitstream-vera. The new one doesn't, because it's no longer included. Pacman checks conflicts first before upgrading any packages, so it wants to remove ttf-bitstream-vera first.

Re: Update to ttf-bitstream wants to remove Xorg (?)

Thanks, JGC.

However, Pacman is asking if I want to remove Xorg, not ttf-bitstream, or at least that's what I'm getting from the comment mentioned in my first post.

I simply commented out [Testing] and the URL reference below it in pacman.conf and I can now safely upgrade the system without worrying about Xorg for the time being.

Simple, when you know how  wink

I guess I forgot to mention that I screwed my arch install by trying to fix it myself. I didn't realise that deleting all of the files and folders in /var/lib/pacman... :'(
