I have a webserver setup and freshly installed vsftpd.
The webserver will be for an intranet. Now i would like to have a user that can login to vsftpd and upload, remove files etc to the webroot. Settings rights (chmod) is also something that should be possible. So its like the access to the webroot you get at a webhost..
What is the best way to set this up? Is het virtual domain better to use in this case or some other solution?
Thanks in advance
Not sure what server you're using... I'm using Apache and I run that service with a designated user and group. I allow local users to login into vsftpd, therefore when I login via the www username that Apache uses I am sent to the home directory (/home/httpd). Not sure if this is the most secure or anything but permissions have worked flawlessly.
