How long will it take to bring Firefox 1.5 to current? I did not read about serious problems here. And a Thunderbird 1.5rc2 in testing would be nice.
I would like to see these packages as soon as possible in official repositories to port them to arch64. User repositories cannot be a good base for porting packages :!:

It seems like pango is the problem. I haven't had problems with FF since I recompiled it without pango (leaving only gtk+xft and cairo for svg).

Yea, I'd apprecieate that too. Although I'm aware that it might have similar issues like Firefox.

Thunderbird 1.5 is out. But still no source available. Why have't we seen a pkg in testing? I hope the update won't break anything.

I've been waiting for a Thunderbird 1.5 package for ages, I'd make one myself but the Firefox PKGBUILD looks a bit over my head and I figured Thunderbird would be the same.

I'm waiting for it too, my thunderbird profile at my ubuntu partition is used with 1.5 so i cant use the same profile here :S

I think you mean
"thanks, Mr Dale Blount, mozilla-packager-extraordinaire, Arch dev team."
This is next in line for installation today, directly after my shiny new 2.6.15-archck1 kernel.

Nice :-)
The only problem I had is that thunderbird 1.5 now uses a spellchecker as default, and my native speaking is dutch, so I tried to install the dutch spellchecker from the mozilla site (and xpi file)
This doesn't work as this xpi file seems to look for a myspell directory (and myspell isn't available in arch repo), but also doesn't give an error.
I fixed it by removing the myspell dir from thunderbird and creating a symlink to the openoffice spellchecker (as they are the same format)
ln -s /opt/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/ /opt/mozilla/lib/thunderbird-1.5/components/myspell
But I think there should be an easier way to do this? :-)
