Xorg w/ Hybrid Graphics; Using the Right Device/Screen For Display?

Hey all, I have an annoying issue with my new HP Elitebook. It has hybrid graphics with Intel/AMD (with Open Source video drivers).

When I plug in an external monitor to the laptop DisplayPort, it clones the display and all is well. When I plug the same monitor into the dock DisplayPort, the display shows the last thing that happened during boot (basically the last screen before virtual console login and `startx` was called). This seems to be caused by the fact that the Dock port is being handled by the discrete GPU. I usually turn this GPU off using vgaswitcharoo, meaning the dock's input simply shows a black screen and `xrandr` doesn't show that the display is even connected.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the dGPU off and simply tell Xorg/udev/kernel/whomever that the input should be handled by the integrated GPU, as the on-laptop counterpart already is. If that isn't possible with the dGPU off, I at least want the second screen to be cloned (well, more specifically to be available in xrandr). Anybody have thoughts on this? I know vaguely of a "ZaphodHeads" setting, but not really sure how it might apply here.

Thanks in advance!
