I am trying to get my external monitor working on this Late 2013 Iris-only Macbook Pro. I am using the xf86-video-fbdev video drivers with nomodeset in my kernel parameters (since there is a bug with the xf86-video-intel drivers).

I patched my kernel and installed the Intel driver which wiorks properly with HDMI. It seems that the fbdev driver just doesn't support HDMI.
