VLC segmentation fault after playing for a couple minutes.

Hello everyone, having a problem that I'm hoping there will be an easy fix for.  I do have a couple options for it, though.

Ideally, I'd like to get VLC up and running normally again. I've tried a couple different files, and every time after playing for a couple minutes, it seg faults.  I tried the work around of running vlc-cache-gen and reinstalling, but that didn't help.  I also moved ~/.config/vlc elsewhere to eliminate configuration issues, and it still happens.

Here's the console output of VLC:

$ vlc

So I figured I'd try and rule out any video driver issues, so I tried it in mplayer.  The video played just fine, no seg faults for over 5 minutes. I would just use mplayer, however, I had no audio.  This is also what happened when I moved my ~/.config/vlc elsewhere.  When I opened up the KDE audio mixer, it didn't even show up as a playback stream.  Here's the console output from that:
