I am trying to connect to my wifi network protected with a wpa2 password. when I click on the network using NetworkManager, no password box comes up and it fails to connect. when I use wpa_gui it says "could not get statues from wpa_supplicant, and When I use wifi-menu It says this:
Job for netctl@wlp1s0\x2dNetwork.service failed. See 'systemctl status netctl@wlp1s0\x2dNetwork.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
Journalctl -xn says:

and systemctl status netctl@wlp1s0\x2dNetwork.service says:
netctl@wlp1s0x2dNetwork.service - Networking for netctl profile wlp1s0x2dNetwork

Thank you
Edit: well after a lot a work I have finally fixed my network problems. I uninstalled networkmanager, netctl, wpa_supplicant and iw, then installed all of them but netctl, and that finally seems to have worked

Have you explicitly configured network manager to use IPv6 on your wireless connection or was that a mistake?

Are you using networkmanager or netctl? You appear to be using both, which clearly won't work.

Well I used netctl for a while and that would sometimes work but mostly wouldn't. When I went to college netctl didn't work on the network there so I used networkmanager which has worked much better for me for the most part. I did not realize I can't have both. Should I uninstall netctl and just use networkmanager? Also, I do not think I have explicitly configured network manager to use IPv6

So I just installed the MATE desktop environment and network manager works perfectly with all networks under MATE. In Gnome network manager can only connect to unprotected wireless networks, and in xfce I can't get the applet to show up. I could go into MATE every time I want to connect to a new network, but thats kind of a hassle, is there a way to get network manager to work in xfce the way it does in MATE?
update:
So now when I connect in MATE it will connect for a little and then it will disconnect and ask me to reenter my password, and then It wont be connected

I cannot remember that I have particularly installed it. It might be a part of Antergos. It might be better to install Arch "the normal way".

Don't necrobump. Particularly solved threads and especially about non-supported distros.
