CCC doesn't remember tear-free or vertical refresh settings

Hi all, I recently updated gnome 3.10 and switched from xf86-video-ati to the latest catalyst beta driver (13.11b6). I bug that I haven't seen reported anywhere, which is that upon boot or login, "wait for vertical refresh" is set to "Always Off" and "Tear-Free" is disabled. I have tried setting it from the command line and from the gui app, both as root and as regular user. It never seems to stick. I think it might be related me not having a display manager, I just have ~/.xinitrc automatically login to gnome upon booting. Any suggestions?

Anyone? This is really annoying having to enable it every time I log in. It actually turns out that I can't turn it on with aticonfig, so making a bash script to run on startup is not an option either.

You might have more luck in the AMD/ATI Barr & Grill.

If I remember correctly there were some issues with enabling tear-free rendering or something in that direction.

Re: CCC doesn't remember tear-free or vertical refresh settings

Ok, I know this is 6 months old now, but I am happy to report that today I finally figured out a solution/workaround. I edited /etc/ati/amdpcsdb /etc/ati/amdpcsdb.current and /etc/ati/amdpcsdb.default and made sure they all had the line EnableTearFreeDesktop=V1. After a reboot my tear free settings are sticking.
