[SOLVED] Kernel 3.12.3-1 Freezes mouse/keyboard in Xorg

Hey all,

My problem has been worked-around by downgrading to linux 3.12.2-1, however I'm looking for a long-term solution, and I'm mostly posting this here wondering if I should be reporting this as a bug, or if this is something that can be fixed on my end.

After yesterday's update to linux 3.12.3-1, I booted to my usual Openbox session (I tried both my usual systemd --user service, and a manual startx), and my mouse and keyboard both stopped working completely - I'm not even getting the blinking light underneath the mouse. The keyboard still works in the console before I start Xorg up, so maybe Xorg actually freezes, I can't really tell!

Is there anything else I can do to give some more useful info? Could this be a bug that needs reporting, or is this something I can fix myself? smile

Thanks all... Sorry for the somewhat useless information, but I don't think I've had this issue before so I don't know what else to say!

It appears Kernel 3.12.4-1 has fixed this smile

Anything useful in systemd's journal or the X log?

This is the output from journalctl (Two reboots' worth, you can see the first reboot is from kernel 3.12.3-1, and the next is 2-1).

I'll edit this post with a Xorg log pastebin too smile

Oddly, the Xorg logs don't have anything from the 3.12.3-1 boots. I guess that says something?

I'll have a more thorough look though.

What about /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old?

Nothing in the .old file matching 3.12.3-1 at all (Just went through all the 'xorg.*.log' files and searched for that).

Very odd, because Xorg DID pop up, I saw Openbox and my mouse cursor!
