Hi all,
I'm now using w3m as my main browser ( ), but it won't show images on lilyterm. when I run w3m under xterm, it shows images just fine, so I assume that it's a lilyterm issue, not a w3m or config issue. How can I get w3m to show images?
Thanks,
WesleyAC

As far as I know, w3m will only show images in xterm (as you've discovered) and rxvt. There may be more, but last I looked, this was the info I was able to find.

Thanks for the info. Strange, since lilyterm is supposed to emulate xterm, but whatever.

It works* in termite, and termite is vte based, as is lilyterm.
*but previews in ranger doesn't work

I guess I'll go shout at the lilyterm devs then

I just did some quick testing of possibilities with this and found something not at all productive, but rather entertaining: if you launch lilyterm from rxvt, then start w3m in lilyterm, any images will be dumped out over on the rxvt terminal.

Interesting, I am a termite user, and I just tested it. It does seem to work in termite. But like ranger, this does not seem to work in mutt either.

It seems to work for me from mutt.
Do you mean w3m spawned as a shell command from within mutt (what I did) or when using w3m to view html emails that include images? The latter should not work as w3m there dumps the formatted text to the stdout which would not include the images.

@Trilby, I was talking about using mutt to html mails. But yeah, now that i think about it, it makes perfects sense why that does not work.

I submited an issue on the lilyterm github repo, so hopefuly I'll get a response soon. If not I might dig around in the source a bit, but I don't really know what I'd be looking for without comparing it to termite.
Edit: I got a reply on the issue:
hmm... I have no idea how to fix it.
I'll check it. Thanks for report this bug!
Hopeful it'll get fixed soon

If anyone it the future comes across this:
w3m-img needs the WINDOWID environment variable to be set, but it might cause an issue on lilyterm, so it probably isn't going to be fixed.
