nVidia GeFroce 210 drivers and XServer downgrade

Hi, just wanted to install official drivers for my nVidia GeForce 210 and learned that the package i need is nvidia-96xx (AUR) and that package requires nvidia-96xx-utils which requires XServer downgrade to 1.12 from currently installed 1.14.5.
How safe is that and is there any less aggressive approach to get better performance of my GPU?

Is it a pretty recent card?

If so, install the regular nvidia package.

Use the nvidia package. I have the same card. No need to downgrade x-server either.

hmm, i tried following wiki guide on nVidia cards for those with custom kernels (via ABS) and it didn't work for me for some reason, after installation and reboot X isn't started and logs say that nvidia module wasn't found.
I tried rebooting in my core repo kernel and installing nvidia regularly, with pacman, and got exactly the same result.

Any suggestions?

Strange. I've got GT220 which works nicely on standard, ck and LTS kernels. With respective standard nvidia driver. You have not produced any logs for us to analyze, which could be useful.

Also, try bog standard core setup - uninstall all nvidia stuff and go for VESA driver. Then install standard nvidia stuff again.

Comment. with standard Nvidia driver I mean current Arch repo version. As said before, you do not need old drivers for this card.
