fast key presses suspend bluetooth audio

Whenever I have audio playing through my bluetooth headphones, it suspends after a few key presses on the (non-bluetooth) keyboard. Just hitting the spacebar a few times is enough to trigger it. It also seems to be dependent on the speed of the key presses: 3 or 4 fast ones with no pause triggers it, while having a sec pause inbetween each one does not.

journalctl reports:

Dec 21 02:18:39 phantom bluetoothd[390]: Suspend: Connection timed out (110)
Dec 21 02:18:41 phantom bluetoothd[390]: Abort: Connection timed out (110)
Dec 21 02:18:41 phantom dbus-daemon[392]: dbus[392]: [system] Rejected send message, 3 matched rules; type="method_return", sender=":1.11"...
Dec 21 02:18:41 phantom dbus[392]: [system] Rejected send message, 3 matched rules; type="method_return", sender=":1.11" (uid=1000...oothd ")

Restarting the bluetooth daemon restores the audio... until I start typing again.

I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. Any ideas?
