[SORRY MISSMATCHED NODEADKEYS WITH DEADKEYS THEREFORE POST IS SET TO SOLVED. YOU EVEN CAN DELETE IT] wattaist
Hi (first post here),
maybe I have the same issue as reported here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1362320 , but I'm not sure, so I made this new post...
I'm German and use a German locales.
In /etc/vconsole.conf I have:
KEYMAP=de-latin1-nodeadkeys
with that Keymap I should be able to use the compose key for accents, e. g. ´ and e should result in é but I get ´e [special charakters for German who don't need compose keys work like ö ä ß]
This is already the case in console and before starting xorg, so I don't think it's an issue of xorg.conf-settings or so, anyway
I already checked
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … ompose_key
with
$ grep -E "(ctrl|caps):" /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/base.lst
Output is
compose:ralt Right Alt
compose:lwin Left Win
compose:lwin-altgr 3rd level of Left Win
compose:rwin Right Win
compose:rwin-altgr 3rd level of Right Win
compose:menu Menu
compose:menu-altgr 3rd level of Menu
compose:lctrl Left Ctrl
compose:lctrl-altgr 3rd level of Left Ctrl
compose:rctrl Right Ctrl
compose:rctrl-altgr 3rd level of Right Ctrl
compose:caps Caps Lock
compose:caps-altgr 3rd level of Caps Lock
compose:102 <Less/Greater>
compose:102-altgr 3rd level of <Less/Greater>
compose:paus Pause
compose:prsc PrtSc
compose:sclk Scroll Lock
and in /usr/share/X11/locale/ I don't find any folders for de_DE (to see which Compose rules are defined for this keymap as described in the linked wiki-article]
Don't hesitate to let me know if you need further informations.
