Bluetooth controller can't be found. (New install)

Bluetooth worked in past OSs (Windows 7, Fedora 17) I've used on this computer (Thinkpad X220 Tablet), but nothing is recognizing any bluetooth controller now. I don't know if I was using bluez4 or bluez5 in the past.

$ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
$ hcitool dev
Devices:
$ bluetoothctl
[bluetooth]# list
[bluetooth]# show
No default controller available
[bluetooth]# agent on
Agent registered
[bluetooth]# list
[bluetooth]# show
No default controller available
[bluetooth]# power on
No default controller available
$ lspci | grep -i blue
(no output)
$ hciconfig
(no output)
$ hciconfig up
Can't get device info: No such device
$ hcitool scan
Device is not available: No such device

But I have all the packages installed:

$ pacman -Q | grep blue
bluez 5.12-2
bluez-libs 5.12-2
bluez-utils 5.12-2
$ pacman -Q | grep dbus
dbus 1.6.18-1
dbus-glib 0.100.2-1
libdbusmenu-qt 0.9.2-2
python-dbus-common 1.2.0-1
python2-dbus 1.2.0-1
$ systemctl | grep blue
bluetooth.service loaded active running Bluetooth service

What can I do to help Arch find the bluetooth controller? Would trying bluez4 be a reasonable thing to to try? I'm afraid it'd break something.

Re: Bluetooth controller can't be found. (New install)

I found an Ubuntu user with a similar problem (and a helpful reply) at http://askubuntu.com/questions/225208/b … n-bcm43228 , but this thread is really old now. I've made another one to continue this discussion here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1369251

It's not too old. You could have simply bumped this thread with the new information you put in the other thread. By making a new thread for what is essentially the same problem, that is cross-posting. I assume you intend on leaving this thread in favor of the other, and so I will close this one. If I am misunderstanding you, please don't hesitate to PM me or any of the other mods. Good luck.
