Cycling between two systemd services

On my HTPC, I want to cycle between the xbmc and slim service. When xbmc stops, slim should start and vice versa.

Any guidance on how to do this? I figure maybe making my own systemd service file is the best way to go, but I've never done that before so I don't really know how you're supposed to start another service from a systemd service, and my google-fu was too weak.

Re: Cycling between two systemd services

You seem to want a display manager for your display manager...

Seriously, isn't the point of a DM to allow you to select a user and a graphical session? Why do you insist on doing this via systemd services? What's wrong with using slim to choose between XBMC and the other unstated session?
