Fan not running properly

I feel after recent update(might involve one kernel update, I use linux-lts kernel ). The fan sometimes doesn'  t run properly. I have to suspend and resume to make it working and cool the laptop down. The laptop is a dell inspiron 7720.

Do you use any method of fan speed regulation / temperature reading? It might help you to dabble in it for a while.
