i compiled and installed the exfat-nofuse kernel module (from here -> https://github.com/dorimanx/exfat-nofuse ) which is the same as the one in the AUR (exfat-git).
i'm using cinnamon DE, with kernel 3.12.6-1 from the repositories (no modifications), and my external drive is automounted properly when connected - but only for reading. i can only write if i right click and "open as root".
it works fine on my osx mavericks laptop and my wife's windows 8.1 laptop and my android tablet.
any ideas? is this something i installed incorrectly or did not set permissions correctly? i have given my user access to the disk and storage groups - to no effect.
can anyone help?
