Video Tagging Software

Hey Archers,

I have been working for several months now to get a fairly large movie and TV show multimedia (around 100 movies and several hundred TV episodes) library going and have run into a problem.  I run Arch (obviously) but my sister with whom I share much of my library runs Windows.  When I place movies or TV shows on her computer and import them to iTunes so that she can use them on her iPod, all of the DVDs have the weird metadata embedded from the source DVD (like the Fellowship of the Ring shows up as FELLOWSHIP_EXT_1).  I know that this has to do with the fact that iTunes doesn't give a rip about NFO files so I need to embed tags to the source file.  Which leads me to my problem, does anyone know of ANY software that can fetch metadata from IMDB, TMDB, TheTVDB, etc. and embed the metadata to the video file?  My entire collection consists of AVIs, MKVs, and MP4s.  Obviously, I need the fetching and preferrably a batch editor to speed things up as I don't want to manually edit 300+ video files.  smile

EDIT: I would also like to have it run natively if possible (NO Windows install on my computer, not even a VM).
