Pulseaudio continually unsinking? with programs. Might be Unity engine

Has anyone had problems with losing audio, even though sound testing using pavucontrol or the like does produce sound? I think this is a Unity engine bug because I'll be playing Guns of Icarus or Overgrowth and then leave game, try to watch something on youtube or listen to music with banshee or watch a video with mplayer and there's no sound! I may go back into game and there's still no sound. Killing pulseaudio and restarting it doesn't help. Only thing that works is rebooting.

Anyone got any idea what's going on. I'm not sure if "unsinking" was the right word, but this has got me baffled.

Have you checked from pavucontrol that you have the correct output sink selected?

Other possibility is that after you close the games, they leave some process running that is reserving the sound card for itself, so check what processes are running after you exit the game.
