AMule crashes

Since last update, aMule crashes after a while running. I opened it with terminal, and it throws the following message:

Terminated after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
	what(): std::bad_alloc
* Could not get symbol names for backtrace
	backtrace:

Avortat (bolcat de la imatge del nucli)

That last line is "sigabrt core dump".

EDIT: I've noticed that, just before chrashing, gui gets "corrupted", meaning that there is an aMule window, but it's empty (only background color). Also, if I minimize it, it minimizes an maximizes like crazy at light speed until I click on the taskbar icon).

Re: AMule crashes

Looks like something is wrong with latest versions. Current version (10834-1) and previous one (10832-2) wich was released a couple of days or so ago, both have the same problem. Previous one to these (10830-1) works fine.

Re: AMule crashes

I am using aMule GUI (to connect to a remote aMule daemon), and since that update the whole X freezes when I minimize it to tray (I have that option enabled). The freeze can last a few seconds, on indefinitely... quite annoying! Even if I kill the aMule process by switching to a console, X keeps being unresponsive, so I basically have to reboot.

I am wondering whether it depends on the new 3.0 wx version it uses...

Re: AMule crashes

And for me, aMule doesn't work at all.
When I start it and try to update the server list, it just crashes with some "core dumped" error.
EDIT: I'm making a package with the stable version of aMule (2.3.1) using wxgtk 2.8. If it won't crash, I'll upload it to AUR.
EDIT2: Compilation errors, source not compatible with the current version of gcc/g++. Debian has a patch for it in their source packages for aMule.
EDIT3: Compiling now with the Debian patches, let's see if it works...
EDIT4: Another compilation error, this time something related to libupnp that was fixed in the SVN versions. I'll try compiling the latest SVN version with wxgtk 2.8 instead of 3.0. If it will crash on launch, I'll try to compile the stable version with upnp things copied from the SVN version.
EDIT5: It works for now, no crashes yet. The package is in AUR under the name amule-wx28.
EDIT6: The stable version (2.3.1) with UPnP stuff copied from SVN is also available on AUR under the name amule-stable-upnp_from_svn.

Instead of rebooting, try killing X.

Re: AMule crashes

aMule SVN + wxgtk 2.8 = no crash (for now). Hooray!
You can install it from here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/amule-wx28/

Re: AMule crashes

Nice to see ed2k users here.
Maybe kind of off topic but i want to inform. I couldn't get used to aMule, then i have started checking official mods. I experienced high ram usage on a long session on most of the mods. I haven't finished checking all of them but kMule works fine(CPU/RAM usage) with WINE.

Re: AMule crashes

Also, a package with the stable version of aMule and UPnP support from the SVN version: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/amul … _from_svn/
It should be less likely to crash than the SVN version.
UPnP works for me on this stable version.

Happy filesharing!
