Plymouth doesn't work anymore

Hi all,

I follow these steps in order to get plymouth to work:

1 - I installed plymouth: packer -S plymouth-git.
2 - I added plymouth to HOOKS after "base" and "udev" in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.
3 - I added 'quiet splash' to the grub command line in /etc/default/grub and I ran grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
4 - Finally, I ran plymouth-set-default-theme -R solar.

But that doesn't seem to be enough.

Any help?

Hi
I've been setting this up today actually for myself still not working fully but you need to setup kms if you haven't already and you have to rebuild initcpio after you change the theme.
see if that works.

Re: Plymouth doesn't work anymore

nmonty,

I think i can't setup kms because I'm using the proprietary NVIDIA driver.
I rebuild the initcpio when I change the theme with this command: plymouth-set-default-theme -R solar.
