Howto set monitor resolution when I start with the monitor turned of ?

Hello,

I use the onboard Intel HD 4000 to display on my Dell monitor which works out of the box with native 2560x1600 resolution as long as I boot with the monitor turned on (both console and X11).

The problem is that sometimes I don't boot with the monitor being powered on and  just need the monitor later.

I found in aur the program read-edid which gives me the needed info in case my monitor isn't powered at boot.

How could I use that information, for the console (I guess it's relared to grub2) and for X11 ?

Thank you very much !!!
