[Solved] Flashplugin constantly crashing after recent system upgrade

I upgraded my system today (I already lost a list of what packages I did install, but I upgrade every day so only most recent changes were made).
Now the flashplugin crashes constantly using VK music player

Logs from Firefox:

Unable to find label "Eq" in plugin library file "/usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so".

###!!! [Parent][RPCChannel] Error: Channel error: cannot send/recv

###!!! [Parent][RPCChannel] Error: Channel error: cannot send/recv

###!!! [Parent][RPCChannel] Error: Channel error: cannot send/recv

And youtube crashes the Firefox itself

Unable to find label "Eq" in plugin library file "/usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so".
pure virtual method called
terminate called without an active exception

Re: [Solved] Flashplugin constantly crashing after recent system upgrade

I don't think the log is related as /usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so is not flash, I don't even have it installed on my system.
Maybe it's some other pluting who is causing the crash.
try pacman -Qf /usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so to understand which package includes that .so

Re: [Solved] Flashplugin constantly crashing after recent system upgrade

Well, nothing else in the logs appear when I start flash playback.

caps.so is owned by caps.

pacman -Qo /usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so
/usr/lib/ladspa/caps.so is owned by caps 0.9.16-1

I just remembered that the caps is an equalizer I don't use anymore. So I removed it. The logs are still the same.
Maybe the caps was just a warning log. Then the real crash log is not displayed.

Now youtube doesn't cause core dumped, just crashes plugin in video window silently.

You are definetly hitting : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=174277

It seems that, starting from terminal, or disabling synch fixes it, but I didn't read the hole thread.
It looks like a firefox issue connected with the update : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=889868

Re: [Solved] Flashplugin constantly crashing after recent system upgrade

It's definitely flashplugin issue.
I get the same crash using chromium

Seems to me you still have some configuration file making reference to caps, it might not be the cause of the problem but taking that out of the list of possible problems will help to narrow the possible culprits.

Thanks.
I wonder why I haven't thought about it untill someone pinpointed at this obvious thing to fix.
The problem was that caps was broken for some reason and alsa was configured to use caps. Just reinstalled caps and it is working again.
