Hi, I can't format the USB after using DD, but it doesn't work. I zeroed the partition like written in the wiki, but when I try to make the fs it says that the partition doesn't exist. The system doesn't recognize the USB at all. I used the windows version of DD

You need to partition it; why would you use the windows version of anything?
CPU-optimized Linux-ck packages @ Repo-ck • AUR packages • Zsh and other configs

this is covered in the beginners guide unless there is something wrong with the hardware. partitions like null said with somthing like fdisk, cfdisk. what do you mean the system does not recognize it does it show anything when you plug it in and use something like lsblk.

I solved the problem from windows. It seems that using dd for windows I couldn't resotre the USB using Linux

^ You would have needed to first create a new partition table on the device, then create a partition and finally format it.
You can do that in Linux, Gparted is great for this kind of tasks.
Anyway, it looks like you can mark the thread as solved (edit the title of your first post)...
