Re: [SOLVED] Video tearing after update to xf86-video-intel 2.99.908-1

Spoke too soon. While not as bad as .908, I am still getting some tearing on the odd dialogue box with .909.

Chris Wilson says in the upstream report that we will need further fixes from trunk after 2.99.909 release. Can somebody who still has this bug with 2.99.909 test what needs to be added from trunk to get it finally fixed?

All commits since 909 looks relevant, and I had corruptions up to 2.99.909.5 (including). I'm using 2.99.909.6 for a couple of hours and I haven't noticed any related regressions so far.

Re: [SOLVED] Video tearing after update to xf86-video-intel 2.99.908-1

Thank you very much for pushing 909-2 - I have installed it a short time ago, and so far it works fine with not a single incidence of video corruption. So for me this looks like a good fixed package, and thanks also to the maintainer, Chris, upstream for the successful commits.

Further note: Andy - thank you for your work in pushing this updated package. I have been testing continuously since my post and there is no further recurrence of this problem. So for me this is a complete fix (testing on two machines).  If others can also confirm that the new package fixes their video corruption then I will mark this solved.

EDIT: It seems the tearing and other effects I am seeing depend on the applied theme. If I apply Clearlooks-Phenix, everything works great. With Elegant Brit Revisited I get tons of tearing and other effects. Screen grabs (top pic is with Clearlooks-Phenix, bottom with Elegant Brit):

I am running 909-2 and I am still seeing video tearing effects from time to time. Currently trying to make some changes to my keepass password database and getting lots of tearing effects.
