AUR - dependency makepkg issue

Hi all,
I'm trying to compile and install ncl from AUR (using packer). All dependencies check out fine, however there is an issue while building vis5d+. I've downloaded the patch from the Sources section (provides a PKGBUILD and the patch), following is the output of makepkg:

> makepkg

patching file util/kludge.f

Re: AUR - dependency makepkg issue

Wow, I have no idea. But if "makepkg" doesn't work then you should flag the package as out of date and post a message.

One thing though, when you say "I've downloaded the patch from the Sources section", what do you mean? The place to download the source files is in the upper right corner, under "Package Actions", called "Download tarball". That's all you need to use "makepkg".

Thank you for the reply drcouzelis.

I've downloaded that tarball from the upper right corner (contains PKGBUILD and the patch file), that's the one I'm trying to build but it always fails on the make procedure. I'll try flagging the package and see how it goes from there.

Re: AUR - dependency makepkg issue

I just confirmed the build fails for me as well with the same error.  So flagging is the right first step.

Re: AUR - dependency makepkg issue

I don't know what exactly happens, I have just try compile this package again and compile perfect for me.

I don't know what exactly happens, I have just try compile this package again and compile perfect for me.
maybe missing some dependency....

I've tried reinstalling all three dependencies (mesa, xorg-server and netcdf), make as well and the same error still occurs :S.

Yep, just reinstalled it... Same error.

EDIT: Have you installed vis5d+ via yaourt/packer/etc. or by downloading the tarball itself?

I just downloaded it from AUR and used makepkg.

Anyway, I didn't saw you were using a x86_64 machine - I'm on i686.

Considering the fact that we've got pretty much the same output (configure), I guess it's all about x86_64 now, not the package itself.

Wow, I have no idea. But if "makepkg" doesn't work then you should flag the package as out of date and post a message.

Pet peeve: failure to build does not mean "out of date". An available newer release than what the AUR offers means out of date.
