ssd nearly full

Hello everybody

Today I've found out that my root filesystem is nearly full so I thought lets get rid of some packets which I don't use anymore. However there's not so much potential to make free space. However I saw that /usr and /var together nearly use up all my space. What is stored there? Is there a "harmless" way to clear some data from there or are there essential data stored?

Kind regards

Please provide more info https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … y_programs
The default package cache is in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ so you might want to read how to effectively manage it e.g. with paccache.

Oh thanks a lot, paccache and filelight are great tools!
