Hi All,
I downloaded the Arch ISO via torrent last night. I have done a MD5 Check on the ISO and its a match. I put the ISO onto my USB 3.0 memory stick and when booting I get the following error:

I put the ISO onto the memory stick with RUFUS & Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.5.2.
Any suggestions on why it might be doing this?
Thanks!

Have you tried using e.g. dd instead of RUFUS & Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.5.2?

I'm currently running Windows 8 on this drive. However I have another SSD which is for arch. So I don't currently have access to dd.
Cheers

I agree with karol; you might also have a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/US … tion_Media. The hybrid archlinux iso that supports both cd & usb, bios and uefi is probably screwed up by 'rufus'
Did you try cywin's dd? I see 'rufus' is recommended in the wiki, but I'd still try an alternative

What would be the best way of be running DD?

I usually use Win32 Disk Imager to dd images from Windows.

Cheers slithery, I'll try that!

Thanks all for your reply. I managed to use slitherys software link and now it's booted into arch fine! Thanks for your suggestions and help.
