ALSAMIXER not working properly

Hi I have two sound cards on my lenovo ideapad. And I figured out one is for HDMI and the other PCH is for normal sound. So I have everything unmuted and set to the highest volume possible in alsamixer and the only thing that works it the beep (like hitting delete or tab or something) and nothing else does work.
Some info:

[root@withered ~]# cat /proc/asound/card*/codec* |grep Code
Codec: Intel Haswell HDMI
Codec: Realtek ALC283
[root@withered ~]# cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [HDMI ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDMI
HDA Intel HDMI at 0xb5610000 irq 67
 1 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xb5614000 irq 63
[root@withered ~]# speaker-test -c 2

speaker-test 1.0.27.2

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1022:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory
[root@withered ~]#

I've tried googling it but couldn't find any help
