I don't use application profiles, and have that unchecked in the settings.
If I use 'nvidia-settings' from the console, I get that same error (above) before the GUI loads.

yep, 'nvidia-application-profiles-334.21-key-documentation' is missing in package

Today I saw a file /usr/share/nvidia -> nvidia-application-profiles-334.21-rc
So I decided to try this:
sudo cp nvidia-application-profiles-334.21-rc nvidia-application-profiles-key-documentation
And now nvidia-settings doesn't show me that error.
