Hi, guys. I have got a weird problem.
I have a laptop with CPU i3-3227U (which has an integrated HD 4000 graphics card) and nvidia 740M. At first I get a blank screen when trying to install archlinux using a usb stick. When I add nomodeset to the kernel parameters, I succeed in installing the system. But after installation, I have to put nomodeset to kernel parameters to avoid screen go to blank again.
I have googled around and found many people had similar issue. But when I tried their methods like adding acpi_osi="!Windows 2012", acpi_osi=Linux, acpi_backlight=vendor or acpi_backlight=lagecy, none of those worked. However, I do get my screen works when just change nomodeset to i915.modeset=0. But it will makes xorg server to use fbdev and vesa to render its contents, which is a waste of my two graphics cards.
After upgrading to kernel 3.13.6, I find that I can get my screen works even deleting i915.modeset=0 or nomodeset from kernel parameters when I reboot my laptop. But screen also turn to blank when I boot my laptop from power off state. And by saying reboot I mean that even I get a blank screen at first boot progress, I can get my screen works just by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL.
Is there any one knows what's going on? And any way can I get my screen works even at the very first boot without nomodeset or i915.modeset=0? Thanks!
Just in case it matters, I dual boot with Windows 8.1 under UEFI mode.

3 quick questions.
1) What display drivers are you using?
2) Did you setup hybrid graphics properly? It can be a PITA most of the times.
3) What do the logs of failed/blank screen boot say?

Sorry for the late reply. Quite busy recently.
Answers:
1) I have install xf86-video-intel and xf86-video-nouveau. Also, I installed xf86-video-fbdev and xf86-video-vesa to be able start Xorg server when using i915.modeset=0
2) I had succeeded setuping hybrid graphics (using bumblebee) once, but it didn't help. I don't know what PITA is, and find nothing related through google. Would you please explain a little bit?
3) I have read logs several times, but fail to find any clue. To not mess page up, I paste a sample log here

No, it doesn't help.
When I add i915 and intel_agp to the, I get blank screen once boot.
And I was getting blank screen before not when "Loading modules" but when "Starting udev Kernel Device Manager...".
