Hi All,
i'm trying to get LOL working on Arch 64bit. I've installed it using this walkthrough here:
http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/thre … guide.206/
When i run it, I get the first splash screen, but when I click 'play', it just goes to a black screen. Steam for linux and games there run great. But I can't get POL working.
Here is the debug log:
http://pastebin.com/9kLJux14
it's complaining about the alsa libraries in the log, but they're installed. so i'm not sure what that problem is.
thanks for any help.

You have 64 bit, the guide is for 32 bit. The only extra steps would be to install the lib32 packages and possibly install the wine 32bit version in POL instead of 64bit.
Read the wiki.

Thanks,
I should have mentioned. I did install a bunch of the 32 bit stuff. I'll go through the wine wiki and see what i missed.

Best to also post which of these packages you installed. You can check in /var/log/pacman.log
Not sure if this will help but make sure you create the 32bit wine environment in POL for test purposes and create a 64 bit environment. Maybe one of them will work.
EDIT: The guide explicitly says to setup a 32bit environment.
Edit2: There is a lol archwiki, a bit outdated but might show which lib32 packages you might need https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/League_of_Legends
Read all the way down to troubleshooting and the wiki also points to the winehq for more info. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p … &iId=19141

I don't know how PlayonLinux works but settiings 'WINEARCH=win32' usually solves the problem.

It's interesting that the first step in the lol wiki is 'install playonlinux and it works'.
I'll try to set up a chroot environment and maybe run POL there in 32bit mode and see what happens.
btw, I really love how well documented arch is. Sure it takes a bit of set up. but it is completely worth it.

Isn't LoL supported by PoL? I have a hard time getting World of Tanks to run on PoL if I install it myself, but plays well if I install it thru the Games menu and allow the script to do all of the work for me..

Known issue with POL non-system wine after PA 5.0 besides, you don't need POL for League and you also don't have to use a chroot, just follow the wiki without adhering to the chroot part (read: patch lol with the linux tools (don't know how well the python scripts work, I used the mono variant which seemed to be more up to date) then launch wine like usual)
