[SOLVED] Wine is missing from the repos

Hi fellows, recently I have installed wine in a computer, just a week later I tried to install it on another and it's missing from the repos.

wine-mono and winetricks are still there, though.

Re: [SOLVED] Wine is missing from the repos

Your first install must have been on an x86 system, and the second one on a x64. On x64 you need to enable multilib:
Howto enable multilib on arch: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/multilib

multilib/wine 1.7.14-1 [installed]
A compatibility layer for running Windows programs

https://www.archlinux.org/packages/mult … 6_64/wine/

pd: remember to install lib32-packages (for example, lib32-nvidia-utils if you own an nvidia) and to change WINEARCH if you need to run any 32bits application via wine

Is running 'pacman -Syu' after enabling [multilib] enough?

LOL! How could I have forgotten multilib!?

I guess I was so used to install x86 systems that I completely forgot about that.

My bad.

I'm not sure why you would think that. -Syu updates the packages already installed, it won't install new packages -- unless an updated package requires one, of course.

If you add a new repo it updates the sync database.  From there you install from the new repo.

Re: [SOLVED] Wine is missing from the repos

Ah, I see. Yeah, that should work, since wine's dependency chain includes lib32-libgl.

That's what happens when you type faster than you type think and don't read what you think type.
