[Solved] Lightdm-gtk3-greeter 1:1.8.3-1 doesn't allow login

I upgraded lightdm-gtk3-greeter from 1:1.8.1-2 to 1:1.8.3-1, and cannot no longer login. After typing my password and pressing enter the login screen halts completely. After downgrading back to 1:1.8.1-2 login works correctly.

I can't see anything noteworthy in logs except perhaps "WARNING: Session pid=608: Error reading from session: Interrupted system call" in lightdm.log.

Any ideas?

Reinstalling gdk-pixbuf2 seems to have fixed the issue for some people.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
