I'm kinda new to Arch, I've been using Ubuntu for the past few years... Anyway, I have a new laptop that is doing something I've never seen, it is draining about 8-10% of the battery every hour its sleeping. Its REALLY high, its not warm, I can hear the fans and drive are shut down and I can see that the backlight is turned off so it can't being doing much but I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot this.
The system is as follows:
System76 Galago Ultra Pro
CPU : i7-4750HQ
Video : Intel Iris Pro 5200
Drives : 240GB msata + 1TB hybrid
WM : KDE
it's all kept up to date at least once a week.
Anyone have any ideas or pointers as to where to look to troubleshoot this?

I would start by testing with the ubuntu image that seems to be supplied with the laptop to see if it does the same and go from there.

yea, I agree in theory, however I don't have that any more... They have a support forum for ubuntu stuff, I'm asking over there as well to see if anyone else has similar issues. I've also opened a ticket with them to see if they will tell me about anything about power settings or tweaks they make in Ubuntu (I expect they won't be able to assist).

Then you might want to download the most recent driver package for ubuntu[1] and check what they do/add.

ok, system76 doesnt do anything to ubuntu that affects power. I've also installed win7 in a partition and tested it, it does the same damn thing and eats alot of battery while sleeping. I've confirmed I have the newest bios...
