problem with usb scanner hp PSC 1310

lo there,

i am having some trouble getting this printer to scan. It prints just fine with the hpijs driver, and works really well. i have had it running earlier on my wifes ubuntu box, but needed to move it to my computer.
anyway, found some info at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … canner+psc

and it mentions running ptal-init setup.
i cant seem to find this anywhere on my system, how do i get it ?

thanks all

AFAIK, ptal is part of the hpoj package and not needed if you use the hplip backend for sane. With hplip, all you need to do is add

hpaio

to your /etc/sane.d/dll.conf file.
