[SOLVED]Live system will not start from usb, works with 2013.10.01

I've made an installation usb with the universal usb installer for windows (also tried unetbootin for windows) and the 2014.03.01 iso on several different usb sticks and every time where I should get the splash screen with the arch logo, I get this:

Unknown keyword in configuration file: PATH
boot/syslinux/whichsys.c32: not a COM32R image
boot:

I tried making a new boot stick with an old version I had lying around (2013.20.01) and sure enough it worked. I'm wondering if using that one and just Syu-ing would be a potential workaround?

This is a 2010 era vaio netbook with 2gb ram, an amd vision, no os installed, and of course no optical drive.
If someone can either direct me towards making the newest release work, or give some info on the workaround, that would be much appreciated.

After digging around a bit more, I found a solution. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multi … b-creator/ has a few tabs at the bottom, one of which is an FAQ explaining that this is an syslinux mismatch, in which newer arch releases (hence my problem only occurring with the 2014 ISO) use a newer version of syslinux which most distros aren't on yet. A quick replacement of files will fix the issue. (only tested using YUMI)

I get this same error, using the 2014.05.01-dual ISO. I haven't tried the replacement files from that site, but I'm curious why the official ISO still has issues. I wish I still had an older copy laying around.
