Different Laptop Modes?

Hi,

i just installed Arch on my laptop and just went through the wiki for powersaving options. I enabled a few and discovered that there seem to be two different (?) Laptop Modes:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Laptop_mode and
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … aptop_Mode

Now I`m wondering which one I should use...

Re: Different Laptop Modes?

First one is the page of a software called laptop mode tools, that is, to manage detailed options for saving power which includes the laptop_mode kernel variable explained in second page.

Laptop-mode-tools is hardly in development anymore, as far as I know. I'd suggest you to use Tlp instead. It has a nice configuration skeleton.

Okay, I will try TLP instead. Thanks for the advice.
