[solved] wifi hard blocked after hibernate

Everytime I resume from hibernate my wifi card is hard blocked.

My wifi card:

 $ lspci | grep Net
05:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 73)

The machine is a Lenovo E540 laptop and has no hardware switch for wifi, afaik. The only thing that comes close to this a function key for wifi. But using this only toggles the soft block.
Even after full shutdown waiting several minutes without power supply the wifi is still hard blocked. The only way to unblock it is to boot into Windows 8. For some reason Windows is able to unblock the wifi and after reboot it is up again in linux. At least until I hibernate.

I've just upgraded to Kernel 3.14 but it was the same with 3.13.

Any ideas how to prevent the hard block? Or at least how to unblock the wifi without booting windows? Any suggestions are welcome

I put at button on it. Yes. I wish to press it, but I'm not sure what will happen if I do.  (Gune | Titan A.E.)

Re: [solved] wifi hard blocked after hibernate

I just noticed that it gets hard blocked after suspend too. But when it is blocked after suspend I can unblock it doing a reboot. When I resumed from hibernate the block is persistent across further reboots.

After suspend my fn-keys also stop working. Maybe this is related?

Re: [solved] wifi hard blocked after hibernate

I have the same E540 laptop and a similar issue with wifi suspend - sometimes it works, sometimes it's blocked. I didn't quite figure out a pattern.
Also my ehternet stops working after every suspend. The link is up but it never receives an IP address via DHCP. Bringing is down and up, restarting NetworkManager and even using dhcpcd directly didn't help.

Re: [solved] wifi hard blocked after hibernate

The problem seems to be gone since kernel update to 3.14.2-1.  So at least for me it is solved.
