I had printing via cups to a brother printer working pretty well.
After a pacman -Syu (and reboot) printing fails. The cups admin pages make it look like the jobs succeeded, but the printer does nothing.
In /var/log/messages.log, I see the following...
Apr 15 15:59:29 localhost systemd[1]: Started CUPS Printing Service.
Apr 15 15:59:32 localhost kernel: usblp0: removed
Apr 15 15:59:32 localhost kernel: rawtobr3[7984]: segfault at 28175cc4 ip 0804da9d sp bfe56c64 error 4 in rawtobr3[8048000+a000]
Apr 15 15:59:33 localhost kernel: usblp 3-1:1.0: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 12 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04F9 pid 0x0042
I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this further. Any help is appreciated.
UPDATE:
the initial cause may have been low disk space. My root partition was close to used up. When I freed space, printing started working.
however it could also have been that I re-installed aur/brother-hl2270dw, because I did that too.
