Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found

After update system X does not works.

In /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

[   433.598] Current Operating System: Linux hexodica 
[   433.601] Initializing built-in extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
[   434.043] (EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)

I've a 8500GT nvidia card.

I try rewritting the Xorg.conf file with nvidia-xconfig without errors, but the X does not works. Now I'm using "vesa".

Give the nvidia-304xx driver a try.

I tryed with the 304xx drivers, but doesn't works to.

Did you remove the previous xorg.conf before trying the 304 driver?
