Graveman fails to detect cd drive

I installed graveman
It can only record to iso image

I tried adding my burner in the preferences but I get "cannot add this drive" or such error

everything's pretty standard: ise drive /dev/hdc (dvd/cd burner), 2.6 kernel, command line burning takes forever

k3b takes forever to start up since i am using xfce

Is your current user at the "optical" group?
You may also try going the K3B way (= creating a special "burning" group and giving your devices the necessary permissions).
