[SOLVED] Reconfigure audio outputs

Hi guys!

Some weeks ago, my motherboard died and I had to replace it. I bought an ASUS P8H61-MX USB3, wich has "8-channel high definition audio". However, when I tried to plug my 6.1 speakers to the new motherboard, it was like "wtf? only 3 connectors? where do I have to plug black and yellow jacks?". After some research, I got it working on Windows (colors didn't match, but the software included with the drivers did the trick). Now I have green2green, black2pink, yellow2blue, and can only plug the microphone to the front mic connector. If I "speaker-test -c 7", only Front Left and Front Right sound. How can I reconfigure the other two audio outputs on linux? I use Arch+Openbox, no DE.

Thank you.

Re: [SOLVED] Reconfigure audio outputs

If this is a hda compliant sound card, try hdajackretask found in alsa-tools.

Re: [SOLVED] Reconfigure audio outputs

If this is not solved. looked into installing Pulseaudio and use pavucontrol to setup a 6.1 profile from there?
