[gsteremaer] MPEG-2 Encoding?

I am attempting to encode video to MPEG-2 format and it is not working. It simply claims "no element "mpeg2enc". I have the bad plugins, mjpegtools, etc; and x264 encoding works fine.

Is anyone aware of what package mpeg2enc is in? Google has been rather unheplful finding any answers on MPEG-2 encoding in gstreamer. I get that it's an old codec, but it shouldn't be this depreciated. smile

Any help here would be appreciated.

Re: [gsteremaer] MPEG-2 Encoding?

It's a good idea to read the FAQ https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/FA … ge_is_X.3F

$ pkgfile mpeg2enc
extra/mjpegtools

Since you do have mjpegtools installed,something else is wrong.
Post the exact command you're using.
