Installing on MacBook Pro - how do I format with hfsplus?

I'm installing Arch on my MacBook Pro (late 2008, x64), and everything's working well aside from one problem: I can't figure out how to install the hfsprogs package so I can format my EFI partition to an hfsplus filesystem. I've googled around and tried downloading the tarball from the ftp link on the package page, but I don't know what to do after that point. It doesn't appear to be included in any repository, so I can't use pacman -S hfsprogs.

How do I install the hfsprogs package and format my EFI partition (/dev/sda1) to HFS+?

Your EFI partition should not be hfs+; have a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/UE … _Partition
